R.I.P. Chris Kelly of Kriss Kross

Chris Kelly, from the 90's hip-hop group Kris Kross was found dead in his Atlanta home. He was found unresponsive Wednesday and later pronounced dead at Atlanta Medical Center around 8pm. The cause of his death has not yet been determined. He was only 34 years old.

Kelly, performed as Mac Daddy alongside Christ Smith, known as Daddy Mac. The rap dup might be best remembered for the song "Jump" from their 1992 debut album, "Totally Krossed Out." The group become notoriously known for wearing there clothing backwards. Kris Kross was the first act signed to Jermaine Dupri record label, So So Def. The duo recently reunited for a performed at So So Def's 20th Anniversary concert in Atlanta.

UPDATE: Kelly's mother, Donna Kelly Pratte and So So Def released the following statement:
"It is with deep sadness that we announce that our beloved Chris Kelly has passed away on May 1. To millions of fans worldwide, he was the trendsetting, backwards pants-wearing one-half of Kris Kross who loved making music. But to us, he was just Chris – the kind, generous and fun-loving life of the party. Though he was only with us a short time, we feel blessed to have been able to share some incredible moments with him. His legacy will live on through his music, and we will forever love him."

Based on evidence discovered at Kelly's home in south Atlanta, a drug overdose may have been the cause of death. An autopsy is scheduled to be performed Thursday, May 2nd.
