T-Mac's Back

The San Antonio Spurs announced today that they have signed seven-time All-Star guard Tracy McGrady. The veteran free-agent, famously known as T-Mac, will be replacing recently released forward, Stephen Jackson, for the remainder of the season. McGrady, 33, is currently playing basketball in China but is eligible to play for the Spurs in the postseason because he was not on a playoff roster after the March 1 buyout deadline.

He last played in the NBA for the Atlanta Hawks during the 2011-12 season, where he averaged 5.3 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists a game. He once led the league in scoring in 2003, averaging 32.1 points a game and again in 2004 with 28 points a game average. While playing fot the Qingdao Eagles in China, McGrady averaged 25 points, 7.2 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game.

With several playoff appearance, he has not advanced to win a any playoff series. The Spurs are currently, 58-23 as their enter the postseason as the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference. McGrady brings to the Spurs the ability to be a effective scorer and passer to a team that loves to pass.
